How to tell my parents I broke my phone?

So my plan for my envy 3 has been up for a while and I have been asking my parents to take me to get a new phone but they said maybe another time. The phone that I want is a black berry because they are going for really cheap right now. So I was throwing around my phone to break it to give my parents an excuse to let me get a new phone. But now I'm scared that they won't let me get a new blackberry because i broke my phone. what should I do?
