Boyfriend wants to go visit an ex?

My boyfriend told me recently that he wants to go visit an ex of his. (Or in his words his "first love") She lives in russia while we live in america. I am kind of upset by this, that he would spend money on going to see her when he makes excuses not to see me because the gas is 'expensive'. (we live 2 hours apart) Do I have a right to be mad? He said I could come but still I dont want to go halfway across the world to visit his ex..
